THE WORKER

The Worker is the story of a thoughtful anthropomorphic 3D model seeking their own origin and history. The project researches on the use of augmented reality in the cinematic realm while exploring the character and role of “the worker”, through time and space.

The Worker was born as an animated Augmented Reality in Berlin Schöneweide, a key place for the industrial revolution.

The character has been developed further in Rotterdam through research on the electric grid. (THE WORKER 2)

“The worker 1” has been supported by Neustart Kultur Modul D – Digitale Vermittlungsformate through Deutscher Künstlerbund. (Gefördert durch die Beauftragte der Bundesregierung für Kultur und Medien im Programm NEUSTART KULTUR Modul D – Digitale Vermittlungsformate )

“The worker 1” was presented for the first time in November 2022 at the exhibition Blind Vision at the Rathenau Hallen, Berlin.

“The Worker 2” has been produced during a PHxV2_ Digital Art Residency at V2_Lab for the Unstable Media in Rotterdam, supported by Pro Helvetia.

"Construction Worker" is a 3D model licensed under Creative Commons Attribution. “Old coil” and “Old long distance cable” are 3D scans by botspot AG (Berlin) of cables produced in KWO and AEG in Berlin Oberschöneweide. These items are preserved at Industriesalon Schöneweide, Berlin.
